Oops.. I meant cleaning preparations.

Alright, here's the actual happenings, and some may already know because there was one certain visitor *ahem* zB .. that popped in totally unexpectedly several days ago. But in case no one knows, and for all those that don't:

This spring cleaning has taken a huge toll on my time. While it doesn't appear that anything has changed around here, it's because it hasn't. I was cleaning a different house altogether.

This board here, being our first home, was not ever our only home. We've moved to what one could say was a summer retreat for a short period of time, but found that we missed our old home too much to leave it behind. So, back home we came.

However, (yes, there is always a 'however'), the people that run this free board appear to be sinking and they are barely staying afloat on a raft that has a huge hole in it. Many people have decided to leave Forumotion and I am no exception. It ...

While only a few people suggested some new names, there are several to choose from. Remember, when voting, vote for a name that you feel best describes the atmosphere of our boards as you either see it, or wish it to be. There is a chance for multiple voting and if you do choose more than one, please comment on why you chose what you did, even if it's because you'd like to see a combination of your choices used.

The poll begins now and will end on March 18th.

Thank you to all that have participated in coming up with some name ideas. I believe there were more but can't find the thread they were posted in. The above names were taken from the 'Networking Profiles and Other Updates' thread in the News section.

The forum will be closed March 19, 2009 for major Spring cleaning. Time to throw open the windows and let the fresh air in.. to sweep the cobwebs out of the nooks and crannies.. replace all the fine linens.. etc.

It will reopen on the 20th (the first day of Spring in the northern hemisphere) with a whole new look and a new name.

Due to the faltering attendance rate and what seems to be a de minimus level of interests, throughout March 2009 Illusions will be undergoing a complete transformation. A Spring cleaning, of sorts.

Some of the items / categories that will be removed are the entire anime episodes section. I truly appreciate the hard work and time that *TsuBasa* has put into uploading and posting numerous anime, and my apologies for the removal. However, for the rest of you, there are many sites that offer streaming anime on the net. The movies section will remain for both anime movies and real-life productions (although it's not legal...

Forumotion has been working on enhancing the forums and will be rolling out the new updates .. no idea when, but supposed to be soon. There'll be a heads up so everyone can prepare for possible momentary glitches. In the meantime, I'd like to give everyone something to think about and a topic we can sort of discuss when we all have our chatbox/movie night get-together.

Once the updates are complete, I'm going to be re-instating an advertising campaign to expand the forum membership and activities. What we need is a catchy name/phrase for the forum. (The name can be in any language, so long as it's easy to read/say and matches the forum's substance.) Also, some new subject matters that we can add, since we all do have more going on in our lives besides just anime and manga. A sort of think-tank / community gathering type forum is what we're gearing toward, where we can discuss pretty much anything and everything at anytime.. and we'll be breaking down into groups again, ...
